Soccer tournament
July 5 → 10, 2027 · U10 → U20
Who can take part?
- All clubs that are members of a national association recognized by FIFA can take part. In countries where the sport is taught at school, teams belonging to their school sports federation are also accepted.
- All members of the delegation (players and staff) must be covered by civil liability insurance.
- The tournament is played under IFAB or French Football Federation rules. Matches are officiated by official referees.
Eligibility
- Each player shows their tournament registration card (Navigo Découverte with photo, first name and last name) along with the validated team list, or an F.F.F. license for the current season.
- Failing that: a medical certificate of fitness to play soccer dated within the last 18 months, an official ID and parental consent for minors (or a visa for non-EU players).
- A player can only play for one team per edition. Players suspended for 6 matches or more by their federation cannot take part.
- The referee or a member of the organization checks both teams before each match.
Uniform
- Jersey, shorts and socks in club colors, with numbers matching the team roster. Goalkeepers wear a different color.
- Shin guards are compulsory. Substitutes wear a bib of a different color.
- If two teams have similar colors, the first-listed club changes jerseys.
Playing time & format
- 8v8: 2 × 20 min. 11v11: 2 × 25 min. In very hot weather, the organizers may switch to 4 × 8 min or 4 × 10 min.
- U10, U11, U12 and U12G play 8v8 on half a field (penalty area 26 × 13 m), with offside from the halfway line.
- Unlimited rolling substitutions. No limit on players per team, but a maximum of 7 substitutes in 11v11 and 5 in 8v8.
- At least 4 matches per team, from Tuesday, July 6 to Saturday, July 10. Win 3 points, tie 1, loss 0, forfeit -1.
- The top two in each group play the A tournament, the others the B tournament. Knockout finals.
Tie-breakers
- In the group stage: points, then goal difference between the tied teams, overall goal difference, goals scored, number of cards, then a 3-kick penalty shootout.
- In the knockout stage: straight to penalties (3 takers in U10, U11, U12 and U12G, 5 takers in the other categories), then sudden death.
- Team absent at kickoff: match lost by forfeit 3-0.
Awards
- Every player receives a gift. The winners take home the Paris World Games trophy and gold medals; finalists and B tournament winners receive a cup.
Registration
- The Paris World Games cannot accept every application: priority goes to the teams that pay their registration fees first.
- A club can register a maximum of 2 teams per category, unless the organizing committee decides otherwise.
- No exemption from the age limit is granted, unless the organizing committee decides otherwise.
Complaints & discipline
- All complaints must be made in writing: before kickoff for player eligibility, at the next stoppage after the disputed action for technical objections.
- A disciplinary committee (players, referees, coaches and organizers) rules on the cases referred to it, based on reports from officials or clubs: direction@worldgamesevents.com.
